What we did
Maruakoa is a house proposed for a beautiful site in Belfast, the steep side of a heavily wooded valley, for which an Outline Permission established a narrow rectangle on which it is possible to build. Number 8 Studio was engaged to design the house, obtain Full Planning Permission, and eventually take the project through to completion.

A retreat from the city
The house will be the long term residence of the client and is designed to make the most of the natural environment, light and views. It will provide an adaptable stage for life, whether that is hospitality and entertaining guests or providing a calm and relaxing retreat from the city, whose lights can be seen in the distance.
Crafting the clients vision
The design has been developed in close collaboration with the client, and so will be a carefully crafted home with unique and interesting features that we look forward to bringing to life.
